Responsive Logos

When thinking of how I am going to go about designing a logo for my mobile app I kept in mind that many mobile apps have different versions of their logos: a logo used for the app icon (usually a pictorial mark) and a full logo.

A website called responsive logos does a good job a demonstrating just that– responsive logos. Having so many different screen sizes available on desktops means that having a logo that dynamically responds to the shifting of screen browser sizes by stripping the logo to its most basic form while remaining recognisable to the user is a useful thing to have.

While this may be a little different for mobile apps as I am designing for a specific screen size that will stay the same this works as a good example to show how to strip back a logo to its most basic forms that I could use to develop my mobile app icon.
