FOOD FACTORY BRIEF

We have been tasked with creating some sort of campaign that will help reduce employee wastage in a local fruit packing factory. It will be a two part project, the first part being a group project (mixed groups from HND1, HND2 and BAs) to create a campaign and present it to the company CEO.

We were invited to the factory to take a look first hand at the working environment and to get a better understanding at how the excess waste that occurs.

With this first hand information we were able to feedback to the rest of the group about what we experienced. I personally didn’t see that much ‘unnecessary’ waste, but we have the understanding that the employees were at their best behaviour on the visit day so it may have been less wastage than usual. We were also given statistics about the actual amount of waste that is produced by the employees mishandling or dropping fruit which worked out to be a lot of money yearly.
