I feel that my logo has successfully achieved the brief. I was able to create a succesful typographic logo for the Autonomía film studios within a short time frame. I did a lot of research in to typography and typefaces in order to arrive at the most adequate and effective typeface for the studios logo. I feel that my logo is simple, yet clean and modern.
I think it effectively communicates to its target audience-the target audience being the audience viewing a production by Autonomía, or potential clients reviewing the work. The logo seems professional with simple yet effective use of typography like a good choice of typeface and looking into micro details like manual kerning of pairs of letters as well as experimentation throughout the development.
If I had more time I would have liked to develop a pictorial mark or abstract mark to go with it. I did a lot of research into a possible graphic but I wasn’t able to develop one the in short time frame for this project. It was particularly difficult because of the name Autonomía, spanish for ‘autonomy’ and being a film studio. With the moral philosophy aspect of the name being part of the studio I was thinking of something relating to self-reliance or individual informed, uncoerced decisions as an independent film studio. I came up with a few ideas but was not able to carry them forward and didn’t want to resort to a cliché symbol for film, like a film strip.
In conclusion, I am happy with the results of the logo and I think it works well.
